Seattle's Missing Patch

To the world
The Emerald City jus' to soft
Ya let em' walk all of you
40 years of hardwood gone in a flash
Like Nash and Nowitzki
2-1
David Stern to Bennett for the easy deuce

Sikma, Johnson and 79 had the city sitting pretty
30 years later coffee sold out for 350 mil and the city went ill
No pride in history for what they meant to this city
Howard Shultz
Hope the door hits you on the way out

Consumed in Mediocrity and Hypocrisy
No matter good
No matter how bad
No matter how sad n' pathetic they were
Every night fans came to see the legends on the hardwood

15,000 packing the key just to see the games greatest
But no
Thanks to you
We now have to live with a missing patch to what once was
A great sports city

(This song I wrote was meant to signify that while Seattle still does have passion for sports and some good and ok teams like the Mariners, Seahawks, Sounders, UW etc, nothing beats the feel of what the Sonics brought for 40 years, and what now is Kevin Durant, Westbrook and Green in OKC).
